This book is compiled of favorite poems chosen by children that were written by Aileen Fisher. Majority of the poems in the book are very relatable to kids and real life. They are about a variety of topic such as animals, weather, and family. The author has a nice play on words, and has an established style. Some figurative language is used which help to add to the quality of these poems. The poems are very short, making them appealing to kids, and often are pretty clever. I loved several poems throughout this book and I am not a huge fan of poetry. I found most of the poems silly and creative so I could see how children picked most of them out. This book would be an awesome tool for poetry lessons in grades 1-3rd. The student could choose a topic in the book (animals, weather, etc.) and use it as inspiration for their own poems.
