Review # 1 was written on 2012-07-08 00:00:00 Michael Fitsimons I wasn't too impressed with Yolen's poems. They seemed to be trying to be funny nonsense poems, but they were just nonsense. She tried to play on words ---mixing them up to make creatures. For example, in "Walrust" there is basically a walrus that you shouldn't take out in the rain because it may rust. Clever name...boring poem. |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-02-01 00:00:00 Shane Manka The poem I read in this book was "The Canterpillar." I wasn't too impressed with Jane Yolen's poems. I do have to admit that they were quite creative, but they just weren't as entertaining as I had hoped. Children may find these poems fun to look at but I don't think I would specifically share them with a class. |
