Review # 1 was written on 2014-11-19 00:00:00 Derick Wismer This is an anthology of poems--written by different authors--all about poems. I bought this thin little book for my classroom collection back in 1992. I kind of liked the irony of reading students poems about poetry. The poems are written by well-known authors such as Nikki Giovanni, Eleanor Farjeon, X.J. Kennedy, and Jack Prelutsky, for examples. The anthology was compiled by Bobbye S. Goldstein, and I think she has a meaningful and varied collection in this book. I recommend it for students third grade and up. --Barb |
