Finding, following and living our passions in a world of conformity is not for wimps. It takes courage, conviction and a faith in ones purpose and identity to overcome the massive pressure to go along with the herd. Questers is a book that helps to explain why some of us appear to be driven to find work that will fulfill an inner yearning to find meaning and purpose in life. It is broad, comprehensive and provides us with examples of well- known Questers as well as a test to determine if we fit the definition. The author claims that Questers are made, not born and that we can all becomes Questers. To support this assertion, the book contains short stories, questionnaires to help with determining where we are in our career path. Carole Kanchier takes a refreshingly holistic approach to life and work. There is an understanding that our work and our life are interconnected in such a way that our work is an extension of our quest for increased self- understanding and personal development. For people that are feeling unfulfilled in their work but fear making a change this book will offer encouragement, strength and practical tools. Career counsellors and everyone who is in a position to help others find their path in life should read this book and keep it handy for reference. For anyone who has the desire to live their lives to the fullest and reach their potential it is encouraging and motivating. It is down to earth, easy to read and packed full of practical information.

A quick read with tons of questionnaires to help you get going on a self-analysis of what you liked and disliked about previous careers, and which direction you may prefer to head towards in the future. Despite the brevity of the meat of the book, you will want to set aside a couple weeks to complete the questionnaires to get the most out of it.
