Review # 1 was written on 2008-05-08 00:00:00 Matthew Doherty This book is amazing and I highly recommend you reading it. This book while fiction will lead you to think on a deeper level. Words can not describe.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-08-15 00:00:00 Jontor Wae 3 stars out of 5 - I read a softbound copy from the library over the past few evenings. The author often got bogged down in details, and wrote in a clumsy fashion. Also, he was intent on dramatizing the affair as a race, but his best service was in quoting, generally deliciously, from the two women involved. It was a race, but the most fascinating aspect of it was the huge difference in outlook between the two women involved. Bisland, a lyrical if somewhat ponderous writer, was more interested in the lands and cultures through which she travelled, whereas Bly, although a hardnosed reporter always on the lookout for a juicy story, was engaged in a race she was determined to win.
