Review # 1 was written on 2020-02-07 00:00:00 Randy Hall As a girl with naturally curly hair myself (and no, I can't say that in anything but the voice from Charlie Brown), I wanted to like this so much more than I did. Yes, I can totally relate to hair having a mind of it's own and eventually coming to terms with that. I was surprised at everything that Harriet let her siblings do to her hair though! So why didn't I love it? I just really wasn't a fan of the illustrations. The people struck me as a little creepy. Can't say why, but maybe that's just me. I could see using this in a storytime on self-esteem or hair/haircuts (a surprising number of pictures books on this!) but like I said, it just really wasn't a favorite that I'd choose right off.

Review # 2 was written on 2018-02-27 00:00:00 Frederick Jones Summary This book is about a little girl named Harriet whose curls just can't stay in her braid. Through out the day more curls come out and her brother and sister thinks they look funny so they decide to help her try to get her hair under control. Things don't go as planned when they help her because things just seemed to get worse. The next day Harriet wakes up and her curls look perfect. Activity An activity kids could do is telling the story from the brother or sisters point of view to show how maybe they felt while helping Harriet control her crazy hair. This will help them apply the knowledge they have gained while I read the book and let them be creative and make their own story in the characters point of view. STEENWYK, E. V. (2018).
