I bought this dinky little book of comfort for 36 cents when my Big Box Boulder Borders Bookstore bit the dust. This is a gift book which has a nice little key tied onto the bookmark ribbon. I was able to read the entire book in one sitting which makes me feel very accomplished - Yippee!! This teeny tiny book is a collection of quotes accompanied by some colored drawings. Overall, I enjoyed the book and it was worth every penny I paid. Some of my favorite quotes: "A home says a lot about the people who live in it. Whether you have tie-dyed curtains and a mattress on the floor, or a Chippendale sofa and matching armoire, there is a special warmth and intimacy found in every home. " - Introduction ". . . people's living space an the personal possessions with which they surrounded themselves were inevitably fascinating . . . an affirmation of identity, intriguing both in themselves and as a betrayal of character, interests, obsessions." - P. D. James (b. 1920) English writer "My house is a metaphor for my life: the better it looks on the surface, the more chaos I'm hiding in the drawers and closets." -Linda Henley (b. 1951) American writer "I had no money to buy art, so I would buy old picture frames and put them on white walls, just framing space, which I thought was beautiful." -Barbra Streisand (b.1942) American singer, songwriter, actress and director "People create their habitation in their own image." -Pearl S. Buck (1892-1963) American writer "It is very difficult to understand anybody without visiting his home. Houses reveal character." -Gilbert Highet (1906-1978) American writer "A man travels the world in search of what he needs and returns home to find it." -George Moore (1852-1933) English writer "Home is the place where life makes up its mind." -Anonymous "To be happy at home is the ultimate result of all ambition." -Samuel Johnson (1709-1784) English writer "A good laugh is sunshine in a house." -William Makepeace Thackeray (1811-1863) English writer "Home is not just a place to sleep, home is where we house our souls." -Alexandra Stoddard (b.1941) American interior designer
