Says Halloween is bad because of what it originally represented while using Christmas as an example of a good Christian holiday even though Christmas was originally a pagan holiday, Saturnalia. "Changing the name of something doesn't change what it is." That's literally what happened with Christmas, but go off I guess.

I'm in shock that a book like this is still being published and read in the 21st century! As a teacher, I had a parent asking me to use it in a reading session; while proof-reading before taking it to the classroom, I was appalled by how misguided the author was, and how misleading and prejudiced the narrative is. Being born and raised Roman Catholic, I still found disturbing how inaccurately the facts are presented. As an educator, I will not be reading this to my students, and would never recommend it to any of my peers. First, because my classrooms are composed by children of diverse religious backgrounds, and I find it disrespectful to privilege only ONE religion, knowing I'd never be able to cover all the others. Second, mine is a literacy class - covering religious views isn't part of the curriculum... And lastly, because my duty as a teacher is to provide KNOWLEDGE and introduce core topics that are relevant and suitable to the kids, stimulating them to learn and discuss their findings in a respectful, diplomatic and orderly manner in order to promote a healthy development of their skills. And this book DEFINITELY goes against the principles of acceptable teaching.
