Review # 1 was written on 2016-08-17 00:00:00 Warren Bishop We are relative newcomers to West Virginia. We started coming here two years ago and have fallen in love with this "Wild and Wonderful" state. We visit Davis, Thomas, and Canaan Valley often and when I discovered this book at a local gas station in Thomas, I just had to purchase it. Each black and white photograph is accompanied by a short caption which is helpful to understand the context of what was going on at that time. I loved that the photos covered about 80 years of history, from the late 1800s, to the mid-1900s. Overall, I was fascinated by this book and I really enjoyed showing our girls pictures of buildings that we recognize from our own visits to this area. It's great to be able to understand more about this part of our newly adopted state.
