A beginner's field guide to common wildflowers of the United States. Each entry includes a description of the plant, where it is commonly found, and what eats it. Includes some suggested craft projects and tips for going into the wild. This was ok for an intro field guide. I was a little disappointed that they didn't include scientific names or all of the other common names given to the wildflowers included because kids may know the flowers by other names. Also, better illustrations of the leaves would have been helpful. The selection provided does encompass flowers readily seen in a vast range of the US, so that part was well done.

This is a great book full of facts, not necessarily a reading book but a great resource for children. The children can use the book to identify plants they find in their environment learn about them and make conclusions on their own, and also draw the flowers. It would be a great addition to the science notebooks. Allowing children to look and investigate their environment will make them great investigators and critical thinkers.
