Review # 1 was written on 2011-01-05 00:00:00 Nick Principe So so so informative. I wish more of the writers who are mentioned in this book were part of my required reading when I was growing up. So important to know the diversity of our American literature. People from so many different ethnic groups and life experiences have produced some fabulous, thought-provoking, inspirational work.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-05-22 00:00:00 Clifford Wilson While this is an important book for understanding the displaced, it didn't impress on me the way that some other similar books have. I'm not sure why. I would still, however, recommend reading it to anyone who seeks to understand the violence that so many people go through in many different places (it all bears a similar theme), people that seek asylum, who are running, who have been separated from loved ones, and people who are just searching for home and identity and peace. Understanding breeds compassion.
