Review # 1 was written on 2020-02-16 00:00:00 David Adaskin Interesting book, some new-to-me information. One big issue for me was that the authors would reference a particular quilt or quilt style and not have a photo of said quilt. There ARE many pictures but if you refer to a Hawaiian style quilt, The Royal Hawaiian Flag Quilt, it would be ever so nice to SEE the quilt. Not one Hawaiian quilt pictured in the book. Also they discussed a Quaker quilt and had pictures but it would have been helpful to have an arrow or circle to indicate where the enlarged photo came from on the photo of the whole quilt. Still, over all, a good coverage of women and quilting. |
