Review # 1 was written on 2013-03-20 00:00:00 Daniel Dion It made me smile and laugh. Initially I wished it had given attribution to the contributors. But I soon got over that. I spread the reading out over a few days so as to better absorb the good advice. This is a small, gift size book. Therefore it is a quick read. Most pages have four sentences. Calling it a “self-help” book is kind of a misnomer, but that’s where I decided to shelve it. Ones from children were often humorous. I’ve learned that the older people shared the most meaningful lessons. Age 70+, 80+ & 90+ were the best. I started my own list of “I’ve learned...” (The above “I’ve learned” is #5 on my list.) |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-11-30 00:00:00 Khigh Abner A breezy little read. Some of the quotes are pretty clever. A couple of my favorites: "I've learned there's no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs." "I've learned that meeting interesting people depends less on where you go and more on who you are." |
