The book is written by a group of women that tackled the concept of how women manage to have careers and families at the same time. The book has 14 chapters, but i read only 8 of them. The other chapters which talked about pregnancy, childbearing and choosing to be a mother or not, i only skimmed them. I was more interested in the chapters that tackled the feminine identity, priorities, parenting and working, and the last chapters which i enjoyed most were about leadership, developing negotiation and enterpreneurial skills, and the issues some women face at work, such as harassment and discrimination. Personally, my reading to this book wasn't as exciting as i expected, because i found the book more systematic than mentoring. I also found the book only highlighting the problems that we all know exist and some of them are no longer problems now, because the book was published in 1997. However, it does somehow rise awareness to what women have to deal with in their lives, and i really liked how there were real examples in the book of women who have been through the same situations.

A collection of short essays (or excerpts) about the childhood of famous and inspiring people. Broken into several sections - artists, scientists, politicians and businessmen, and athletes - the book relies mostly on excerpts from biographies and autobiographies with a handful of original essays. Nothing very long or substantive, but enough to hopefully grab the interest of a kid reading the book and inspire him to look for more. I wasn't familiar with a few of the people featured, but for the most part these are universally known success stories. A good introduction to biography, and I appreciated the short format geared towards younger readers. I was also happy to read first person accounts of the childhood rather getting it from a removed narrator.
