Review # 2 was written on 2013-01-26 00:00:00 Beverly Packer While our edition of this book is just a modest paperback by HP Books, it is clearly one of our favorite go to cookbooks for Italian food. Don't be discouraged by the lack of photographs, every recipe in this book is special. Try the two recipes for veal shanks (we use lamb) which are superb! The "Hunter-Style chicken" (aka. chicken cacciatora) is not only easy and fabulous, but also good for you with all the vegetables! I do make slight changes in the recipes to reduce fat and increase vegetables, but Biba Caggiano is clearly a great chef! Last night we had lamb "Shanks Triest-Style" with a plate of roasted vegetables and some crusty bread, and we thought, "Who needs to go out and spend big bucks at a restaurant?"
