Review # 1 was written on 2020-12-03 00:00:00 Blly Smith These Best American Plays anthologies are so important. Not only do they make great reading, but they remind everyone that live theatre--and those who write for it--are alive and well in 21st century America. This volume in particular is superb. Nary a miss among all the plays (that's not always the case), and several of the plays are truly fantastic. Of course, as with all the volumes, the plays demonstrate an admirable range in style, tone, and subject. A real primer on contemporary playwriting. Without question, this is one of the best volumes in the series. Go get it! |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-07-30 00:00:00 Mark Varni This is a fantastic documentary of American freedom, Republican democracy, and a wide assortment of freedoms we have the people have struggled so hard for. As far as American history goes, it is my firm belief that vignettes like those presented in this book are the best way to educate oneself or to entice a young one into studying and enjoying American history. |
