Review # 1 was written on 2018-07-28 00:00:00 Joshua Hare Yes, it's lovingly written, full of anecdotes, and there are lots of great pictures. But I did not get the sense of being there, of being in the thick of things. It was like sitting and listen to people two or more generations older than me talk about how great things were in the old days. Not that there's nothing to learn from stories about the old days, but... Another thing that bothers me is that this book was written in 1977. Bu this time, Saturday Night Live had been around for enough time that, for a show so obviously derived from YSOS, some critical comparisons could have been drawn. But there is no mention of SNL.
