Review # 1 was written on 2013-02-18 00:00:00 Ian Low Odd little early-reader about an independent old woman who is so annoying, pushy, and selfish that the Indians build her a new house and provide all her food, just to get her to stay away from them. Not one of the better works for either Parish or Turkle. The cover scene of Granny dancing with the Indians doesn't occur in the story.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-07-15 00:00:00 Mauro Andres Another book I read repeatedly in second grade, then read to my children. Cute story about a little old woman who is very independent. Granny gives no thought whatsoever to whom may have set a rabbit trap, or to how a fish just happens to jump into her basket while she is out picking berries. All she knows is that she needs meat for her stew pot. The Native-American Indians watch Granny carefully. She is, after all, taking their food. At the same time, they know they must be careful how they handle the problem. The Native-American Indians don't want the people from town driving them off. In the end, the Native-American Indians build Granny a new house, and provide her with fresh meat for her stew pot every so often. And Granny doesn't bother them anymore. My book is the 1972 Collier Books Edition.
