Review # 1 was written on 2011-08-04 00:00:00 Seth Godin In general a lot of great ideas for speaking activities in the classroom - some I would use right away. The book's drawback is that it was written some 30 years ago so some of the examples (like writing telegrams and stuff) are completely outdated. The additional materials are all black and white and really dull. They need to be adapted to the requirements of the modern classroom. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-11-30 00:00:00 David Davis My boss recommended me this book to help me with my speaking class that I had. Since the text book that I was using was repetitive, I needed some new ideas to help prevent the class from falling into a rut. I did learn about a lot of different ideas and activities for speaking. Some were applicable to my class, others not. Those I could not directly use in my current class I might be able to use later down the road when I am teaching other courses and levels. One thing to note, this isn't the most engaging book to keep you awake and riveted on a 6:45am subway ride. |
