I purchased to use with my bubble unit. This was a weak link in the resources. Like other thematic units in this series, there just isn't that much here that I find interesting. I keep it in my files because I plan on re-developing that unit at some point and hope another look through this may provide something useful. We shall see. **** I re-read this for my COVID-19 class looking for activities here at the end of the year. Yeah, this just isn't a good fit for my classroom. Perhaps younger students could benefit from the activities here, but for me, there is no substance that I see to benefit my fourth graders. I have decided to part with this book.

I bought this book because I remembered loving the story as a child. I reread it because some of the details seemed fuzzy to me. I was surprised at how different the details were from my memory. The basic story line I remembered by the how of things were off. I still think it was a good book, and I would say this is a great book for youth. I still have fond memories of what I thought Terebithia looked like. I would recommend that parents have their children read it, I believe it would be a good starting point for a discussion on loss.
