Review # 1 was written on 2020-12-03 00:00:00 Mark Smith I enjoy the writings of the early Christian thinkers, but often they can be challenging to sift through their writing styles to embrace the essence of the truths that they are meditating upon. In this book, David Hazard has done that sifting for us!! The essence of the homilies and other writings of Augustine is put in plain language that the modern reader can easily chew on and digest, embracing them for their own faith journey! This 40 Day journey with Augustine has been a pure delight, even when his words have pricked my soul with conviction. I have tagged the readings that I will need to return to and meditate upon and commune with God over. This is a blessed treasure for the spiritual journey of the 21st century believer. I am thankful I came across it, and look forward to gaining access to other offerings in this series.
