Review # 1 was written on 2013-03-18 00:00:00 Zachary Ares The book's title is rather misguiding, as peculiarities and patterns of casual spoken English take up a comparatively small part of the book, with most of it being used to discuss the models explaining speech processes, to describe the previous and ongoing experiments in this area, as well as to advocate for the value of casual speech forms as opposed to citation forms. The book is good for what it does. 4 stars.
