This goes on the list with Visual Diagnosis in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine and Clinical Problems in General Medicine and Surgery as one of the excellent case study books. It would be particularly helpful as an aid during 1st year Microbiology and I would even more highly recommend it as an adjunct to (if you go to OSU-COM or listen to Goljan's reviews) Poppie's microbiology board review. Probably worthwhile as an adjunct to Rapid Review: Pathology, seeing how so much of that book revolves around infectious disease. The book divides up the cases by system (good formatting for a book like Rapid Review) and, although it goes into a microbiologists detail of the organisms, it offers some excellent information about clinical course, challenges in identifying organisms, and epidemiology of diseases. Overall, excellent book.
