Review # 2 was written on 2014-12-10 00:00:00 Lynn Hillebrand 050216: almost inspires me to read n again... almost. have not read much n, three books by him, bio., intro, guide, major presence in other's work. this book reminds me of the first read from continental european philosophers series, , several years ago, this does not change the reaction. being: great on individual being and existence... but on the second half: dismay on how he sees the ethical/moral/political aspect of human society... my knowledge of n is therefore shallow. this book takes seriously how he is translated, how interpreted, how great, how appropriated by other thinkers. long chapter on heidegger's version of nietzsche but if you want hd i rec a bit on how derrida, foucault, deleuze, interpret him. interesting and maybe encouraging a new look at n... maybe... |
