Desperate rich brat heroine hires patronizingly amused hero to fly her to far north Finland so that she can reconnect with the only real and down-to-earth friend she's ever had. Our 19-year-old heroine is suffering from a surfeit of her shallow party-girl London life and feeling like there has to be more to life. She's not too bad really--a little snooty and sarcastic but not horrible overall. Our hero feels differently, though, and decides she needs to experience the joys of primitive living to overcome her rich-girl shallow ways, so fakes plane trouble and brings her to a remote wilderness hut, where she climbs trees, cuts wood, and discovers her inner Nature Girl. (Only the heroine needs to change as a result of the transformative power of love, I guess.) He, to his credit, keeps his hands off other than an early punishing kiss. They fall in love over the course of a few days, and it's an abrupt and unconvincing HEA. I loved this book as a preteen; now it seems silly and contrived. MW was one of my Harley go-tos as a young 'un (probably because I related to her often teenage (18-19) heroines), and she could write good sexual tension and conflict, but her work seems very dated now. Hero wears a Beatle cap at a jaunty angle--'nuff said.

[ Getting them trapped in the wilderness -- by design -- so he can teach her about the joys of a simple life. She finds out, runs away, gets a concussion, he nurses her, and she falls in love and they have an HEA and honeymoon in the titular hut. The story is set in Finland, but it's really about a long-term trip to Stockholm. (hide spoiler)]
