Review # 1 was written on 2012-12-08 00:00:00 David Newson Taw Stoner and his mom joined the LDS Church. When she remarries, they head west with the pioneers. When she's killed in an accident, Taw basically goes inactive. Even though he contines on the the Salt Lake Valley with his stepfather, he no longer goes to church. He and his stepfather become haulers for the temple and then Taw hauls silver ore from Alta. A girl makes him rethink his church activity, but murder charges slow that down. Clearing his name takes his energy, but eventually everything comes together, he becomes active, her girl comes through, and he finds peace with his family. |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-10-25 00:00:00 Michael Murphy I enjoyed reading this story because it was very realistic based on historical events. Taw Stoner was very likable and you could actually picture him getting into the troubles he got into. The ending had me sitting on pins and needles. |
