This book is awesome and really helps a person to understand the grieving process. The way that it landed in my hands at a time that I most needed it was amazing in itself. The insight it gave me even more amazing.

I had no idea this was written by an LDS author before picking it up for 50 cents in a thrift shop (in Utah, makes sense), but I found the content helpful in grieving—especially the poems/song lyrics. I lost a close friend, though most of the examples in the book were of people losing children, parents, or spouses. It all still helped with the grieving process, though. While I'm usually turned off by religious language, any spiritual references weren't too much for my liking in this particular context.
