Review # 1 was written on 2018-06-05 00:00:00 Alicia Moreno Ramos This is an interesting account of an American couple working in Afghanistan in the 1960s. It is told through the eyes of the wife as she writes letters to her grown children back home. The first 30% of the book is charming but then it simply bogs down to boring more of the same. I could not finish it. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-11-19 00:00:00 Thomas Difilippo Very good read. Interesting times at an interesting place that we have pretty much screwed over. I assumed when I saw the title this was about current Afghanistan. Was I ever wrong! However I learned a lot about Afghanistan that I would not had it been a war book. Different than her other books but I am happy that I read it. |
