Review # 1 was written on 2013-05-29 00:00:00 Kim Mills I don't know much about Michigan politics, but sounds as if there is some truth or inspiration behind this... I enjoyed this as the writer's first novel. Josh Brisco and Adam Van Anders are the central gay characters where opposing family issues make us root for their relationship that finally blossoms by the ending. Some parts of this story didn't fit and seemed forced; thoughts that would work individually in short stories. A lot going on here, including a vampire black chick, dramatic-irony murder mystery, rat obsession, and a circus finale. Campy quick beach read reminiscent of a combination of gay writers like Nathan Aldine and Michael Thomas Ford. |
Review # 2 was written on 2008-01-04 00:00:00 Robin Reichard A very very interesting book centered around Michigan politics. This book has some very adult themes and very sexual in the first 2 thirds, which serves the overall plot surprisingly well. I'd definitely suggest giving it a read. |
