Review # 1 was written on 2020-04-11 00:00:00 Andrew Davies This is a fascinating book for those who have an interest in ghosts or have experienced the unexplained themselves, and according to the book quite a lot of people have either seen a ghost or have had some sort of paranormal experience. This book chronicles some of the investigations of sites rumored to be haunted performed by the Alabama Foundation for Paranormal Research (AFFPR). The author carefully delineates the rigorous protocols that the group follows when studying a site, and although they have a lot of the equipment that one sees on the sensationalized TV shows, they strive to be respectful of the apparitions they are hunting. I learned that all sorts of things may point to a ghostly presence and that even smells or a decrease in temperature may be indicative of paranormal activity. I loved all the different stories of the places they went to, as the author gives the history of the sites and the tales associated with them along with their own experiences there. There are tales of haunted churches, caves, graveyards, and even a mobile home! There are also a few pictures of ghostly lights and orbs to further pique your interest. I thought the book was very interesting, although now I'm afraid of the dark and I have a strong urge to go around taking pictures with my digital camera to see if any ghostly orbs show up in my photos. I'm starting with every inch of my house - just in case!
