Review # 1 was written on 2016-04-18 00:00:00 Michael Harlow 3.5 Book #3 on my quest for helping a student manage a fear of wind. I enjoyed this book, and especially appreciated the illustrations/fold out pages. Pretty cool that the book could be read to both preschool and older children (I'd probably max at second to early third) as the story (without opening the foldout pages) gives adequate details as to what the wind does. Once you open the foldouts, you get a pretty detailed (and child-friendly) explanation. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-02-23 00:00:00 Rick Mann This book stood out for me because it points out a part of existence that most people don't often think about. As I read further, I loved the explanations for the phenomena created by wind, such as sand dunes, and pinwheels turning. There is just enough science in there to be a reliable source, but the book is written in such a way that it is still fairly easy to understand. |
