An interesting and readable novel for older kids that explores both bullying and (UN) peacekeeping. There is a warm friendship between a young Canadian teen and a Muslim boy who has come to Canada because of the strife in the former Yugoslavia. My students liked this one very much.

Horrible. The book is boring, predictable, and it's just like any other school story of bullies and sorts. The only different thing is the emails from Nellie's mother. I'm 12 and I was forced to read this book in my class. Everybody was disappointed and mad at the book. My teacher bought a whole bunch of copies for us to discuss, read, and for something to write in our journals. I highly don't recommend this book. If you wanna read it to see how bad it is, then go on ahead. The parts in the book are TOO simple, the dialogue was disappointing and weird. It was, perhaps, too straightforward. In other words, don't read it.
