Review # 1 was written on 2014-06-10 00:00:00 Theresa Crumpton This was an enlightening book and not just because of the discussion of conceptual motifs, like many monographs, but also due to the examination of various materials Pousette-Dart used. It is hard to remember that the artists of this time period were just being introduced to acrylic paints and that many of them had to improvise with materials because they were poor. Richard Posuette-Dart seems to me to have retained his relevance as an abstract painter due to his experimentation and his pursuit of merging formal qualities with his spiritual concerns. |
