Review # 1 was written on 2015-01-20 00:00:00 Bharti Shah This has been sitting by my bed taunting me. Finally got round to reading it. Another lovely story about Charlotte travelling to New York, and her daily life surrounded by artists and famous folks of this time period. It has a lovely listing at the back of all the real artworks that are shown in the book. Plus a mini biography of each of the artists mentioned too. A great diary story for the budding artist. It's also got french words all through the book since her cook/nanny keeps trying to teach her some. Makes for a delightful read. Longer than a regular picture book. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-08-06 00:00:00 Steven Riedlinger I just stumbled upon this book and love the historical aspect and french vocabulary incorporation. It's a story written from a little girl's perspective. Her father is learning how to paint in the Impressionist manner in France and the family travels to New York. Little Charlotte encounters different famous artists on her adventures. This is a lovely book with very nice illustrations and real paintings. |
