Review # 1 was written on 2018-08-04 00:00:00 Jourdan Feather As a short primer on the history of India I would not recommend this book to any student. For a simple historical atlas, the poor use of maps suggests a haphazard cobbling together of what was available. In addition to the factual errors, I was also troubled by the sweeping generalizations and opinions of the author. For me, it was not a satisfying overview of a country with such a long, rich history.

Review # 2 was written on 2021-02-17 00:00:00 Kara Gibson The title of the book seems to be a misnomer as it is actually a collection of articles by various authors. The book is not as good as Basham's original work, but yet the illustrations and lucid explanations would serve the purpose.
