I think that this book was a really interesting book. What I really liked about this book is that it really gave you the perspective of what is like to be growing up at the inner hoops. He talks about the options and opportunities that they had throughout their career. I also liked that he had a passion for basketball and was a hard working person. Overall this is a good book for people that enjoy reading sports books.

While a bit tedious reading at times, this gives the complete picture of what so many conservatives are afraid of. That the "elect Obama" camp worked so hard during the '08 campaign to silence Kurtz and some of his early findings gives credence to the author's earlier (& present) claims of attempts by Obama and others to quash freedom of speech. It also makes one wonder why they are so afraid of this material out there. Once finished with the book, however, I can see why they want to bury these findings. Kurtz meticulously builds his case peeling away layer after layer of Obama's past dealings, his associations, his writings, etc. I got this book because much of Obama's personal history is still a mystery to most Americans which I find troubling. While Kurtz was still denied access to what really is public records of Obama as a law professor, and of his time as an IL state senator (which I find even more troubling), he still builds a very strong case. His claim is that Barak Obama is a socialist, however, he also argues how one might still give him the benefit of the doubt with each fact presented. Whether our current President is a socialist or not, I still find it VERY troubling that he lies to Americans about it in the face of facts that are very much to the contrary - yes, I actually said "lied"! Setting Obama himself aside, what is even more disturbing is the tactics of self-admitting socialists: socialism by stealth. For those Americans who, whether they voted for Obama in 08 or not, have a nagging fear/concern about him & his associates that they can't quite put a finger on, Kurtz does put a finger right on it for them. Socialism by stealth is exactly what many Americans whether liberal or conservative, whether Republican or Democrat are afraid of. Obama has told the American people that he was a Community Organizer in Chicago but most Americans really have no idea what that is and what they do. They should have done their homework and most of the media should have done their homework as well. That they did not, or that they turned a blind eye (almost criminally so) in order to elect the first black President may come back to haunt. Kurtz lays out EXACTLY what community organizers do and just exactly what Obama did as one. If this material HAD hit the light of day in 2007-2008, I think the election would have had a different outcome.
