Review # 1 was written on 2016-03-30 00:00:00 Christine Salberg Not judging it as a fashion catalogue but as a book. Very poorly edited, with many paragraphs on the same page containing the same idea but repeated. All the descriptions of artists' styles are so generic and full of buzzwords that they cannot at all be distinguished. That could be more of a statement about modern fashion trends, but I would nonetheless expect a bit of effort if you're going to write a book about it. Yes, I get it, the artist is inspired by architecture and drawings and pop culture. They all are. Yes, they try to blend the familiar with the original. They all are. If I ever embark on an artistic endeavor and the only thing someone can say about is that it "blends the familiar with the original" I will kill myself. The photos are also poorly placed and often fail to show anything substantial. Why would anyone present a full body dress with a single picture from the waist up is a mystery. Jury is still out on whether the London fashion industry should be nuked as a whole, but this book does not do it any favors.
