Reading Level: 2.3 Book Summary: Frogs are found everywhere and there are several different types of frogs. Frogs go through metamorphosis and lay eggs. Bookshelf Genre: Informational Text Characteristics that support the genre: This book provides the reader with a lot of basic information on frogs. Bookshelf Mentor Writing Traits: Ideas: The big idea of this book is to tell the reader basic information about frogs. It tells the reader where they can find frogs, what frogs eat and that there are different types of frogs. The book also discusses the life cycle of a frog. Classroom Integration: This book could be used in a science lesson on amphibians or more specifically frogs. It could lead an inquiry project on frogs in which students work in a group to research a specific type of frog. We could also do a lesson on the life cycle of a frog.

This book does not have awards. The appropriate grade level is Pre-k to 2nd grade. This book teaches about the many differences between frogs. It teaches you the life cycle of frogs. It talks about how they catch their prey and why their bodies are different. I enjoyed reading this book actually. I learned things about frogs that I didn't know. I also like how they use real words like metamorphosis instead of simple words. A possible use for this in the class is when you're teaching about different amphibians.
