Review # 1 was written on 2013-10-22 00:00:00 Carly Arakawa This informational text also shows photographs about culture clothing from around the world. It depicts how some clothes and tradition you may see could be similar to what your cultural group may celebrate and wear. The author Heather Adamson captures photos that show beautiful images representing the Hawaiian, Indian, African, and Asian cultures. She seemed to hit home with the accuracy of her photos. It depicts about what they wear at festivities, gatherings, and school. The author allows his/her readers to see things from a different perspective. As a future educator, I will use this text to teach about languages from different cultures. I also appreciate how involved Adamson is with seeing different cultures in the own element and around their friends and family. It is always nice to see how authors who do not identify with a certain cultural group can be very diverse. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-03-25 00:00:00 Daniel Jelen Multicultural-literature book #1 This book talks about how different cultures wear different clothing. It uses different events to display different clothing in different countries. Some examples would be what to wear in the cold snowy mountains in Alaska to cultures found near the equator. It would be a great way to get students to start thinking about other cultures. |
