One must read all 16 volumes to appreciate the gem that is Priest. The emotional impact it had on me is devastating. Not to mention the beautiful scenes that emerge like a sickening newborn from the vile chaos machine that is Hyung Min-woo's pencil. The topic raised is surprisingly deep, raising questions about religion, morality, choices and consequences. However, what I was passionate about and still am is; The breaking point. What does it take to break a man? And why would one be called evil, if one is forcefully pushed beyond one's limits. The straight-forward / vulgar writings of Min-woo discussed such matters rather intellectually, and I loved every page of it.

This is the last published volume of Priest and it ends with a "to be continued in volume 17." ARGH!!!! Don't you just hate it when that happens? Looks like there isn't even any news when book 17 will be out in Korea let alone an English translation for the Western world. It also doesn't help that this isn't a particularly good volume - indeed Ivan Isaacs - Priest doesn't even appear in this one. The entire book is fighting. We have the order of St. Vertinez (evil priests) fighting the inhabitants of Windtale - then we have one of Cairo's Red Indian brothers fighting the the priests in vengeance for his brother's death. Coburn and his posse of marshals are also fighting - pretty much everyone oh and there's Temozarela's army of zombies who turn up at the end to wipe out the inhabitants of Windtale (and anyone in their way) too - to pave the way for a new satanic site. So...that's 5 sets of combatants all hacking and slashing each other to bits. While I do like the artwork particularly on Baston - the iron masked priest on the cover, and the red indian - there isn't much "Story" here - its hack and slash pure and simple and a criminal way to leave the series hanging.
