Pros: - the heroine was kind of my fave. The hero's reactions to her would constantly make me trolololol. - the way it addressed the imbalance of power between husband and wife in the regency era but in such a way that I felt that the hero and heroine reached a solid compromise. I really, really dislike when the heroine has no power and doesn't push back, maybe that's just me being too modern but whateva whateva - the handling of the hero wanting sex, boy howdy am I used to that from boys my age, and how it made the heroine uncomfortable to be pressured after one week's acquaintance - THE LESBIAN AUNT YESSSSSSSSS - the heroine poking holes through the hero's arguments about honor and behavior since it was super hypocritical yay! - I liked when the hero was all, but I want to spend time with youuuuuuuuu and the heroine was all, sry 2 busy 4 u bye. Served him right hmph! - WHO KILLED THE SISTER?? I mean... I wanted to know. - I greatly enjoyed the hero's delicious, delicious apologies at the end. Aww yeah female fantasy tyvm. Cons: - the stereotypical cuckolding first wife who FORCED the hero to be cold and convinced him that women are evillllllll - sometimes I just really didn't like the hero which I know was the point but le sigh, it made me dislike men in general too (NOT the supposed point of a romance novel I think). The alpha ALPHA HE-MALE hero tends to rub me the wrong way, and that is the general template romantic heroes follow. Oh so it's not important to honor contracts with women? Well, fuck you too! But yeah, overall I enjoyed it. They fought a lot but eventually worked it out.

-1 Star for that time she drugged him without his knowledge,Whatever may be the reason ! I don't really care for her reason,on why she did so...But the fact that she drugged her husband on her wedding night instead of talking it out or finding some other way to resolve the situation is a bit too difficult for me to digest. And so was the fact that she deceived and misled him into thinking that he hurt and mishandled her that night. Another -1 for the casual mention of domestic abuse every few chapters... For example her friend asking her if her husband beat her yesterday in anger or her presenting her self to her husband ready for her 'beating' because she angered her husband by making a mistake. Or even the hero just casually wondering if 'beating' her on her wedding night went against a gentleman's honor. Just no.
