This is a pretty nice survey book of American history. I haven't read it cover to cover yet but I have flipped through it from time to time and I have always liked what I read. And I'm a huge fan of Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. so I'm not surprised I enjoy this.

Schesinger, A. (1983). The almanac of american history. New York, NY: Putnam. Chris Brown Call Number: E174.5 .A45 1983 This almanac gives us a wealth of information about the dealings of American History from a complete historical perspective. This almanac which would be a non circulating almanac in the high school library is a must have for people trying to gain a greater understanding of American History. This almanac would be good for a high school because it gives students studying for AP US History tests the ability to gain a greater since of knowledge about their given topics.
