Review # 1 was written on 2008-08-03 00:00:00 Wouter Cortebeeck Very brief read (66 pages not including bibliography and index). While the events related in the book are of great consequence, the treatment is superficial. That is especially true of Hopkins' 2nd and final trip to Moscow to meet with Stalin in 1945. This book should be considered merely an appendix to a larger study.

What you know and who you know has value but what really counts as "...FDR's men..." demonstrates over and over is "who knows you how". In 1941 Hopkins,Harriman, et al were the you and FDR The Who...What a great read.
