Review # 2 was written on 2013-03-05 00:00:00 Mark K Vaughn This is the story of the Civil Rights movement in the US told so that children in First and second grade can understand where we have been and where we need to go. It begins with the election of Obama and takes us back to the start of the US and Slavery. The pictures help with the story and go well with the text. The book is definitely a little biased in favor of Obama; but the idea is not politics but hope about racial equality. There are some parts that are a little long; but overall a great non-fiction book for young students. |
