Review # 1 was written on 2015-10-09 00:00:00 Vasia Fokin This is one of the more interesting, complicated, and artistic versions of a pop-up book, with the added twist of a "where's Waldo" quality to it, but instead of Waldo, one needs to find the hidden blue #2. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-04-24 00:00:00 Philip Tyran For a pop-up book, this demands quite a bit of the reader. Its spectacular pop-up structures can be touched, twirled, folded and pulled, all of which may be necessary to find the hidden blue numeral two on each page. The sentences are sometimes nonsensical but full of interesting and complicated words, like "Jubilant Kookiness Laughing". It's a book that works on several levels; it's a complicated puzzle, like a magic eye, a linguistic tongue twister, and an multimodal adventure. This is a book for one (careful) child to explore at his or her leisure. It's appeal is almost entirely visual, but some children might be enticed by the word play as well. The blue twos are hidden cleverly enough that even an observant adult will have to spend some time poking and poring though it. |
