I picked up this book from the library at our Compassionate Friends support group meeting. As a parent who has lost a child, I am fascinated by the subject. I know people who have vivid dreams of those they have lost, but this has seldom been my own personal experience. I appreciated Erin Linn's compilation of testimonials of those who have experienced Premonitions, Visitations, and Dreams. The strongest section of the book was the section on dreams. The other two sections were interesting, and I enjoyed reading them, but I was more skeptical of them. Skepticism of these kind of experiences did not keep me from reading the book. I encourage those who are interested in the experiences of others to read the book. There is not much detailed information about these three kinds of experiences ... but they come mostly letters written to Ms. Linn. In the end I would say that if one has had a premonition, visitation, or dream of someone they have lost, to hold it as a gift and be thankful for that experience. Judgments about the validity of it are relatively meaningless, because it is an experience meant for the person who had it. Very interesting!

I studied its forth Canadian Edition for my intro to psych course. It was well written.
