This is a very dangerous book. Under the pretense that abortion may become illegal and unavailable, it tries to teach do-it-yourself abortions and menstrual extraction, which is basically surgery performed by untrained women's groups that has a high rate of infection and is condemned by medical experts. The book also instructs women how to lie about being raped so they can get abortions if there is ever a law prohibiting abortion but allowing it in those cases. Can we even talk about how harmful that is to feminism and how disrespectful and insulting it is to all rape victims? The book tells women how to fake miscarriages and make suicide threats in order to get abortions. This book is not really pro-woman, it puts women's lives in danger. Full disclosure compels me to admit that I am pro-life, but even if I were not, I wouldn't trust this book with my health and safety

A thorough and informative, though somewhat dated, history of abortion rights, laws, and procedures, as well as in depth study of menstrual extraction. An invaluable reference for any pro-choice individual or household, or any woman interested in her own physiology. Accessible, objective, and educational. The chapters pertaining to RU-486 could stand to be updated but an otherwise relevant read.
