Review # 1 was written on 2010-12-04 00:00:00 Mads Brevik This is a reprint of the book of the same name in the South Africans at War series from the 1990's. It tells us of the heroism and adventures, as well as some lighter moments, of the South African Air Force in WWII, Korea, and the Border War along the Angola-South West Africa border in the 1970's and 80's. The stories from these men who risked their lives to defeat their enemies make for instructive reading, and are backed up with action pictures showing them attack enemy ships and planes. This is worth your time.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-11-22 00:00:00 John Jennings the first half of this book covers the development of the zero. technical goals all achieved by japanese engineers, advancing in many ways over the models of germans, british, americans, russians- have to take this on faith but the numbers are impressive. it is a very japanese book, praising mechanics, builders, even pilots, as particularly japanese values… second half of the book covers ww2 in the pacific, starting with the war in china before the attack on pearl harbour. this is a japanese book and suggests the attack was necessary, that the us, the british, even the dutch, were threatening, were supplying the chinese, were intractable in demands. this may be the japanese history line, do not know, but there is a consistency in ideology and occasional expressions- the attack was glorious, the japanese resisted valiantly, the eventual development of kamikaze human bombs etc… review continues:
