Review # 1 was written on 2017-12-12 00:00:00 Chen Liu Despite the similar name and same author, this is not the same book as "The Chistmas Book of Legends and Stories." It contains some of the same material, but is primarily taken up with later stories, many of which are commonly reprinted. While there's some nice stuff in here (seeing Tolstoy's Christmas tale included was a nice bonus) this is neither as eccentric nor as essential a book as the other one of similar name.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-06-08 00:00:00 David Dominguez Another potential for 3rd grade book club that was passed over for being too dark. If you like your fables with unhappy, abrupt and sometimes scary endings, this is a great book for you. I found it highly entertaining but not terribly appropriate for the under-10 crowd.
