This book is a great general introduction to the topic of way humans negatively and positively affect the environment. It includes information about global climate change, fossil fuels, pesticides, renewable energy, and more. It starts out with the unfortunate ways humans negatively impact the environment, but closes with hope and sheds light on ways that families can help the environment in their daily life choices. The back matter includes a clear glossary, and more resources an interested child could use. Since this book is full of more densely packed non-fiction text, it would be best read silently.
